Common Definitions & Interpretation (applies to all)
1. Who we are
“Joovik”, “we”, “us” or “our” means JOOVIK PRIVATE LIMITED, a company incorporated in India (CIN: U86909DL2026PTC468873), with its registered office at Okhla, New Delhi, South Delhi- 110025, Delhi. Joovik operates the website joovik.com and related applications (together, the “Platform”).
2. Our operating model - please read carefully
Joovik is a technology platform and facilitator. Joovik connects Users with independent, licensed third parties. In plain terms:
Joovik does not practise medicine and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Medical services are provided by independent registered medical practitioners.
Joovik does not own, stock, manufacture, dispense, sell, or deliver any medicine, and has no pharmacy partner. If a Doctor issues a prescription, Joovik emails it to you, and you may have it dispensed at any licensed pharmacy of your choice. That pharmacy is responsible for the medicine it supplies.
Joovik is not a pharmacy, chemist, drug seller, distributor, hospital, clinic, or diagnostic laboratory.
Joovik facilitates the interaction, scheduling, communication, and technology infrastructure between Users, Healthcare Providers, and Diagnostic Partners. Joovik does not send prescriptions to any pharmacy.
3. Defined terms
“User”, “you”, “your” - any person who accesses or uses the Platform.
“Healthcare Provider” or “Doctor” - an independent medical practitioner registered with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or a State Medical Council who provides consultations and, at their sole clinical discretion, issues prescriptions.
“Pharmacy” - any independent, licensed pharmacy you choose to dispense a prescription. Joovik has no pharmacy partner and does not send your prescription to any pharmacy.
“Diagnostic Partner” - an independent, licensed laboratory that provides lab tests, where applicable. At present this is C3 Wellness and its partner labs, which collect samples and return reports.
“Dr Jo” - Joovik’s artificial-intelligence assistant. It is called “JOOVIK” in the Joovik app and “Dr Jo” on the joovik.com website; in this Centre, “Dr Jo” means both. It provides general information only and is not a Healthcare Provider.
“Services” - the facilitation, technology, content, and support services Joovik provides through the Platform.
“DPDP Act” - the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, together with the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 and any rules or notifications made under it.
“Personal Data” / “Health Data” - data about an identifiable individual; Health Data is Personal Data relating to a person’s physical or mental health, treatment, or medical history.
4. Interpretation
Headings are for convenience only. “Including” means “including without limitation”. References to laws include amendments and re-enactments. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Policy is published at joovik.com/privacy. It covers the Joovik app on iPhone and Android and the joovik.com website, including the consultations, lab tests and health assessment booked or taken there. It says what we collect and why, names the providers that receive personal data and why, where the data is stored, how long it is kept, and how to use your rights under the DPDP Act.
It replaces the Privacy Policy that used to appear on this page. Where another document in this Centre describes the collection, sharing, storage or retention of personal data differently, the Privacy Policy at that address is the current description.
Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of Joovik to book a doctor consultation. By booking, you agree to them. Please read the parts about medical scope and refunds carefully. This is a general summary, not legal advice.
1. What Joovik is
Joovik connects you with a licensed doctor for a paid consultation about GLP-1 weight loss and metabolic health. We arrange the booking and the call. The doctor, not Joovik, provides medical advice.
2. This is not an emergency service
Joovik is not for medical emergencies. If you have an urgent or serious health problem, call your local emergency number or go to a hospital. Do not wait for a scheduled consultation.
3. Medical scope
Booking a consultation does not guarantee any prescription or treatment.
The doctor decides, on the call, what is appropriate for you, including whether GLP-1 medicine is suitable.
The information on our site is educational and is not a diagnosis or a substitute for professional advice.
Your responsibilities
Give accurate information about your health, be reachable on the phone number you verified, and join your call on time. Incorrect details can affect the care the doctor is able to give.
4. Contribution and payment
You choose a contribution starting at ₹199 to secure your consultation. Medicines and lab tests, if the doctor prescribes them, are separate and not included in this amount.
5. Refunds
If we cannot connect you with a doctor, we refund your contribution in full.
Once the consultation has taken place, the contribution is non-refundable.
Refunds are processed to your original payment method. To request one, email [email protected].
6. Rescheduling
You can reschedule your slot to another available time from your confirmation page, subject to availability.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Joovik is not liable for outcomes of medical advice given by the doctor, or for issues caused by inaccurate information you provide. Nothing here limits rights you have that cannot be waived by law.
8. Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. Questions? Write to [email protected]. Provided by Joovik.
Terms of Use / Terms & Conditions
1. Agreement to these Terms
By accessing or using the Platform, you confirm you are at least 18 years old and agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and the other policies referenced here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. What Joovik is - and is not
Joovik is a technology platform that facilitates connections between Users and independent Healthcare Providers (and, where offered, Diagnostic Partners). Joovik does not provide medical services and does not sell, dispense, or deliver medicines. Medical advice and prescriptions are provided solely by independent Healthcare Providers. Joovik has no pharmacy partner: a prescription is emailed to you, and you may have it dispensed at any licensed pharmacy of your choice.
3. The Services we provide
Facilitating booking and scheduling of consultations with Healthcare Providers;
Providing the technology for consultations and communications, and emailing you any prescription a Healthcare Provider issues;
Providing general health information and the Dr Jo AI assistant;
Providing customer support for the Platform.
4. Not an emergency service
The Platform is not for medical emergencies and Dr Jo cannot help in an emergency. If you have an urgent or serious health problem, call your local emergency number (in India, 112) or go to the nearest hospital. See the Emergency Disclaimer.
5. Medical scope and independence of providers
Booking a consultation does not guarantee any diagnosis, prescription, medicine, or outcome.
Healthcare Providers exercise independent professional judgement and are solely responsible for the medical advice and prescriptions they provide.
The licensed pharmacy you choose is solely responsible for dispensing, packaging, cold-chain, and any delivery of the medicines it supplies, and for compliance with the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Rules. Joovik does not send your prescription to any pharmacy.
Information on the Platform (including Dr Jo and blog content) is educational and is not a diagnosis or a substitute for professional advice.
6. Your responsibilities
Provide accurate, complete, and current information about your health and identity;
Be reachable on the number you verified and join consultations on time;
Use the Platform lawfully and in line with our Acceptable Use Policy;
Follow the Healthcare Provider’s guidance and your pharmacist’s instructions; do not misuse medicines.
7. Contribution, payments, medicines and lab costs
You pay a contribution starting at ₹199 to secure your consultation. Payments are processed by Razorpay (our payment gateway partner). The cost of medicines (charged by whichever pharmacy you choose) and lab tests (paid for separately when you order them), if any, is separate and is not included in your contribution. Refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
8. Third-party services and links
The Platform may reference or link to independent Healthcare Providers, Diagnostic Partners, and other third parties. Joovik does not control and is not responsible for their acts, omissions, services, or content, except as expressly stated.
9. Intellectual property
The Platform, the Joovik brand, and “Dr Jo” are owned by or licensed to Joovik and are protected by law, as set out in our Intellectual Property Policy. Third-party medicine names (e.g., Wegovy®, Ozempic®, Mounjaro®, Zepbound®) are trademarks of their respective owners; Joovik is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
10. Disclaimers
The Platform and Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Joovik disclaims warranties of any kind regarding the Services and regarding the acts or omissions of independent Healthcare Providers, Diagnostic Partners, and any pharmacy you choose. See the Medical, Healthcare, Telemedicine, AI, and Emergency Disclaimers.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Joovik is not liable for: (a) the medical advice, diagnosis, prescriptions, or care provided by Healthcare Providers; (b) the dispensing, quality, packaging, storage, or delivery of medicines by any pharmacy you choose; (c) lab services by Diagnostic Partners; (d) outcomes arising from information you provided that was inaccurate or incomplete; or (e) indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses. Where Joovik is nonetheless found liable, its aggregate liability is limited to the amount of the contribution you paid to Joovik for the relevant consultation. Nothing limits liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Joovik and its officers and employees from claims and losses arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Platform, or inaccurate information you provided, except to the extent caused by Joovik’s own proven negligence or wilful default.
13. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or misuse the Platform. You may stop using the Platform at any time.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable consumer-protection rights, the courts at Hyderabad, India, have jurisdiction. Complaints may first be raised with our Grievance Officer, Mohd Zaid Khan (Product & Technology Head, [email protected]), under the Grievance Redressal Policy.
15. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms and will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Questions: [email protected].
Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies the joovik.com website uses and how you can block them. It should be read with our Privacy Policy, which is the current description of what is collected and who receives it. It covers the website. What the Joovik app keeps on your phone, its analytics (PostHog) and its crash reports (Sentry) are described in the Privacy Policy, and there is no switch in the app to turn analytics off at present.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device. Similar technologies include pixels, tags, and browser storage. They help a website function, remember things between visits, and understand usage.
2. What joovik.com uses
a. Browser storage the site needs
The health assessment, and Dr Jo on the website, save your answers and messages as you go under a random ID kept in your browser. If you sign in, your sign-in session is kept in your browser, and while you order lab tests, your cart and the checkout details you enter are kept there too.
b. Analytics, session recording and advertising measurement (marketing pages only)
On our marketing pages (the home page, pricing, our experts, the blog, about, the GLP-1, comparison, cost and guide articles, the calculators, and programmes) we load Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, which records how the page is used, and the Meta Pixel, which measures our advertising. These tags can set their own cookies, and can see which of those pages you visit. They are not loaded on the assessment, the Dr Jo page, or any booking, payment, portal or prescription page.
c. Product analytics (PostHog)
PostHog receives page views and booking-funnel events from the site’s pages, including the assessment and booking pages. On marketing pages only, it also records clicks and the session, with every field you type into and the Dr Jo chat masked. It keeps a random ID in a cookie and in your browser’s storage to recognise your browser between visits. The Privacy Policy lists what these events can carry.
d. Fonts and error reports
The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details. Errors on the site are reported to Sentry without your identity.
3. A note on our advertising position
We do not sell your Personal Data and we do not use the health information you give us for advertising. The Meta Pixel is used to measure our advertising on marketing pages only; it is not loaded on the assessment, the Dr Jo page, or any booking, payment, portal or prescription page.
4. Managing your choices
joovik.com does not show a cookie consent banner at present, and there is no “Manage cookies” control. These tags load when you open the pages listed above. You can block them, and clear cookies and browser storage, with your browser’s settings or a content blocker. Blocking the browser storage the site needs may stop the assessment or Dr Jo from saving your progress, or keep you from staying signed in.
5. Third parties
These third parties receive data through the website. Their use of it is governed by their own privacy notices.
| Sr.# | Third-parties name | What it does, and where |
|---|---|---|
| 1. | PostHog | Page views and booking-funnel events, from the site’s pages; clicks and session recording on marketing pages only |
| 2. | Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics | Analytics, on marketing pages only |
| 3. | Microsoft Clarity | Records how the page is used, on marketing pages only |
| 4. | Meta Pixel | Measures our advertising, on marketing pages only |
| 5. | Google Fonts | Serves the site’s fonts; receives your IP address and browser details |
| 6. | Sentry | Error reports, without your identity |
Consent Policy
This Policy explains how consent works on the Platform. We ask for consent for defined purposes, and you can withdraw it at any time (see section 4).
1. Principles
Consent is free, specific, informed, unconditional, and unambiguous, given by a clear affirmative action.
We ask for consent in plain language, for defined purposes, at or before the point of collection.
We keep a record of what you consented to, when, and how.
2. The consents we ask for
In the app, the health-data, AI and cross-border consents below are given together, when you agree to our health-data notice. The app cannot be used without that agreement, and there is no separate choice for each.
Platform & Terms - to create an account/booking and use the Services under the Terms of Use.
Health Data processing - explicit consent to process the health information you share so a Doctor can provide a consultation (see the Health Data Processing Notice).
Telemedicine - consent to receive consultations remotely (see the Telemedicine Disclaimer).
Dr Jo (AI) - consent to process your inputs to provide AI-generated information and to store your conversations and, in the app, recordings of your voice and of calls.
Cross-border transfer - our database and files are held by Supabase in its Singapore region, and some providers process data outside India (listed in the Privacy Policy); consent to the associated transfer.
3. Notice accompanying consent
Before or when we seek consent, we tell you: the Personal Data involved, the purpose, that you may withdraw consent, how to make a complaint, and how to contact the Data Protection Board of India.
4. Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw consent at any time: in the Joovik app at Profile > How it’s used > Withdraw my consent, or by email to [email protected]. Withdrawal is as easy as giving consent. Everything the app does uses your health data, so withdrawing in the app deletes your account (see the Data Deletion Policy). You cannot withdraw only part of it in the app, though some switches, such as WhatsApp updates, control specific parts, as the Privacy Policy describes. It does not affect processing already done, and some Services may no longer be available if the underlying consent is withdrawn. Certain records may be retained where the law requires (see Data Retention Policy).
5. Consent for children
The Platform is for adults aged 18 and over. The DPDP Act requires verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian to process the Personal Data of a person below 18. Our Children’s Privacy Policy explains what we do if we learn we hold such data without it.
6. Consent Managers
The DPDP framework provides for registered Consent Managers through whom you may give, manage, and withdraw consent. Where this becomes available and applicable, we will support it.
Health Data Processing Notice
Because health information is sensitive, this Notice sets out clearly how Joovik handles it. It supplements the Privacy Policy.
1. What Health Data we process
Age, height, weight, computed BMI, and any conditions, symptoms, medications, or health history you choose to share, plus information generated during your interaction with the Platform (for example, the fact and time of a consultation booking). The full list, including what you log or import in the app, is in the Privacy Policy.
2. Why we process it
To give the Healthcare Provider context before and during your consultation;
To store any prescription the Healthcare Provider issues and email it to you (Joovik does not send it to any pharmacy);
To facilitate lab tests with a Diagnostic Partner, where you choose them;
In the app, to show you your own record and trends, run your reminders and plans, let Dr Jo answer with your history in front of it, and share with the family members you choose;
To provide support and maintain accurate records of your interactions with the Platform.
3. Legal basis
We process Health Data on the basis of your explicit consent under the DPDP Act. You may withdraw this consent at any time, subject to records we must retain by law.
4. Who can access it
Access is limited to: the Healthcare Provider assigned to your consultation; the Joovik team members whose work needs it (consultations and support); family members you choose to share with, in the categories you set; people in a group challenge you join, who see which days you met its target but never the readings; and, when you order lab tests, the Diagnostic Partner (C3 Wellness and its partner labs). No pharmacy receives your prescription or Health Data from Joovik. Our processors (hosting, communications, AI) access it only as needed to run the Platform and under confidentiality obligations; the Privacy Policy names them.
5. What we do not do
We do not sell your Health Data.
We do not use your Health Data for advertising. Our analytics provider (PostHog) never receives your readings, but does receive some health-related details: a few yes-or-no labels worked out from your app logs and, from the website, your screening result, your health-score band and the lab tests you view or add, as the Privacy Policy describes.
We do not share your Health Data with data brokers.
6. Security and retention
Health Data is protected as described in the Security Practices Statement and retained as described in the Data Retention Policy. Note that doctors must keep medical records, so consultations and prescriptions are kept after you delete your account, as the Data Retention Policy describes.
7. Your rights
You may access, correct, or request deletion of your Health Data, and withdraw consent, as described in the Privacy Policy and Data Deletion Policy.
Medical Disclaimer
The information provided on the Joovik Platform - including the website, blog, assessments, and Dr Jo - is for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment recommendation, and it does not replace a consultation with a qualified, registered medical practitioner.
Joovik is a technology facilitator and does not provide medical services. Any treatment decision - including whether GLP-1 medication is suitable for you - is made solely by an independent Healthcare Provider after evaluating your individual health. Results described on the Platform are illustrative; individual results vary and are not guaranteed.
Never disregard or delay seeking professional medical advice because of something you read or receive on the Platform. Always consult a qualified Healthcare Provider about your specific circumstances. If you may have a medical condition, consult a doctor. In an emergency, follow the Emergency Disclaimer.
Healthcare Disclaimer (Providers, Pharmacies & Third Parties)
1. Independent professionals and partners
Healthcare Providers on the Platform are independent, registered medical practitioners. They - not Joovik - are responsible for the medical advice, diagnosis, and prescriptions they provide, exercising their own professional judgement. Booking a consultation does not guarantee a prescription or any particular treatment.
2. Medicines are handled by the pharmacy you choose
Joovik does not own, stock, dispense, sell, or deliver any medicine, and has no pharmacy partner. If a Healthcare Provider issues a prescription, Joovik emails it to you, and you may have it dispensed at any licensed pharmacy of your choice. That pharmacy is responsible for the sourcing, quality, packaging, storage, cold-chain, labelling, and any delivery of the medicines it supplies, and for compliance with the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Rules made under it.
3. Lab tests are handled by Diagnostic Partners
Where offered, lab tests are performed by independent, licensed Diagnostic Partners (at present, C3 Wellness and its partner labs), who are responsible for sample collection, testing, and reporting.
4. Credentials
Provider names and credentials shown on the Platform are provided in good faith and displayed with the provider’s consent. Users should raise any concern about a provider through the Grievance Redressal Policy.
5. Joovik’s role
Joovik facilitates access, scheduling, communication, and technology. Except as required by law or expressly agreed, Joovik is not responsible for the professional services of independent providers or partners.
Telemedicine Disclaimer & Teleconsultation Terms
These terms apply to online (tele-) consultations facilitated through the Platform, in addition to the Terms of Use. By booking, you consent to receiving a consultation remotely.
1. Who provides the consultation
Consultations are provided by independent Healthcare Providers registered with the NMC or a State Medical Council, in line with the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020 and applicable NMC norms. Joovik provides the technology and facilitation only.
2. Your consent and information
You consent to telemedicine and confirm the information you provide is accurate and complete.
You will be asked to verify your identity. The consultation and clinical notes may be recorded and stored as part of your record.
3. Clinical discretion and limits
The Healthcare Provider may decide that an in-person examination is necessary, or that telemedicine is not appropriate for your situation.
Some conditions cannot be assessed remotely. Telemedicine has inherent limitations, including technology failures.
Booking does not guarantee any prescription or outcome.
4. Prescriptions
If a prescription is issued, it is at the Healthcare Provider’s sole clinical discretion and is governed by our Prescription Policy. Certain drug categories cannot be prescribed via telemedicine under the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020.
5. Emergencies
Telemedicine is not for emergencies. Follow the Emergency Disclaimer.
AI Disclaimer (JOOVIK and Dr Jo)
Joovik’s assistant, called JOOVIK in the Joovik app and Dr Jo on the joovik.com website, is an artificial-intelligence (AI) assistant, not a doctor. In this Disclaimer, “Dr Jo” means both. It generates automated responses to help you understand general health topics. Dr Jo does not diagnose conditions, prescribe medicines, or provide personalised medical treatment, and its responses may be incomplete or incorrect.
1. What Dr Jo is and is not
It is: a way to get general, educational health information quickly and, in the app, an AI wellness coach.
It is not: a substitute for a consultation with a registered Healthcare Provider, and not for emergencies.
2. Human oversight
All clinical decisions - eligibility, prescriptions, and dosing - are made by independent Healthcare Providers, not by Dr Jo. To reach a person on our team, write to [email protected].
3. Safety
Dr Jo is designed to avoid giving definitive diagnoses, to encourage you to consult a Healthcare Provider, and to direct you to emergency services in urgent situations. Please do not rely on Dr Jo for decisions about medication or emergencies.
4. Your data and AI
Conversations with Dr Jo may be stored and processed to provide and improve the Services. In the app, every call with JOOVIK is recorded. Your inputs are processed by our AI providers: OpenAI (chat, live voice calls, plans, briefs, reading photos, documents and lab reports, call summaries, memory search, the support assistant, and speech where chosen); Google Gemini, only if our servers are switched to it; and Sarvam AI (speech-to-text, spoken replies, script conversion and, where set, the model that answers). Some call replies are spoken by a speech server running IndicF5, an open speech model. OpenAI processes data outside India, and Google may. Sarvam AI is based in India. This is a cross-border transfer disclosed in, and consented under, our Privacy and Consent Policies. You can ask us to delete your Dr Jo conversations at [email protected], and deleting your account in the app (Profile > Delete account) deletes them. We do not use your Health Data from Dr Jo for advertising.
5. No misleading reliance
Nothing Dr Jo says should be taken as a promise of results or as medical advice. Marketing that describes Dr Jo will make its AI nature clear.
Emergency Disclaimer
Joovik is not an emergency service, and Dr Jo cannot help in an emergency.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency - for example chest pain, difficulty breathing, a severe allergic reaction, thoughts of self-harm, or any life-threatening symptom - call your local emergency number (in India, dial 112) or go to the nearest hospital immediately. Do not wait for a scheduled consultation or a response from Dr Jo or the Joovik team.
If you are in distress or thinking about harming yourself, please reach out to a qualified professional or a trusted person right away, and contact local emergency services. This is a sensitive area and help is available.
Prescription Policy
1. Prescriptions are a clinical decision
Any medicine - including GLP-1 medication such as semaglutide (Wegovy) or tirzepatide (Mounjaro) - is prescribed solely at the discretion of an independent, registered Healthcare Provider after evaluating your health. Booking a consultation does not guarantee that any medicine will be prescribed.
2. Joovik does not sell or dispense medicines
Joovik does not own, stock, dispense, sell, or deliver medicines, has no pharmacy partner, and does not send your prescription to any pharmacy. Where a valid prescription is issued, Joovik emails it to you, and you may have it dispensed at any licensed pharmacy of your choice, which bills you for the medicine separately.
3. Prescription-only medicines
GLP-1 medicines are prescription-only (Schedule H/H1) medicines under the Drugs & Cosmetics Rules, 1945. They are dispensed only against a valid prescription and are not available over the counter. Certain categories of medicine cannot be prescribed via telemedicine under the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020 (for example, narcotics and specified restricted drugs).
4. How you receive your prescription
The Healthcare Provider issues a signed prescription or e-prescription, which we email to you as a PDF; if you use the Joovik app, you can also open it there. You are free to have it dispensed by any licensed pharmacy of your choice. Joovik has no pharmacy partner and does not send it to one.
5. Safety and responsibility
Follow the dosing and instructions given by your Healthcare Provider and your pharmacist.
The pharmacy that dispenses your medicine is responsible for its quality, storage, cold-chain, and any delivery.
Report side effects to your Healthcare Provider; in an emergency, follow the Emergency Disclaimer.
Refund & Cancellation Policy
1. Consultation contribution
If we cannot connect you with a Healthcare Provider, we refund your contribution in full.
Once the consultation has taken place, the contribution is non-refundable.
You may reschedule your slot to another available time, subject to availability.
2. Medicines (charged by the pharmacy you choose)
Joovik does not sell medicines and has no pharmacy partner. Medicine charges are set and collected by the pharmacy that dispenses them, not by Joovik. Because medicines are prescription products, they generally cannot be returned once dispensed, except where that pharmacy’s policy or the law provides otherwise (for example, a wrong or damaged item). Refunds or replacements for medicines are handled under that pharmacy’s policy.
3. Lab tests
You pay Joovik for lab tests, through Razorpay, our payment partner. So any refund for a lab test comes from Joovik, back to your original payment method.
You can move your home collection once, yourself, on the tracking page on our website. The link is in your booking email. To move it again, or to cancel it, email [email protected].
If the lab cannot take your slot, we will rebook it or refund you.
In other cases, such as a cancellation you ask for, whether money comes back depends on the Diagnostic Partner’s cancellation terms. We will check and tell you.
Refunds are not automatic. A person on our team handles each one.
4. How refunds are processed
Approved refunds of the Joovik contribution are made to your original payment method within 8-10 business days. To request one, email [email protected] with your booking reference.
5. Your consumer rights
Nothing in this Policy limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.
Subscription Terms (if applicable)
1. Plans
Joovik offers two kinds of plan. What each plan includes, and its price, is shown before you pay. Plans cover Joovik’s Services, such as booking your doctor visits, coaching and support. Medicines are never included: you buy them from any pharmacy you choose. Lab tests are charged separately, except the blood panel that comes with the Kickstart plan.
Monthly plans in the app: programmes such as Weight Loss, PCOS and All Access. You buy them through the App Store or Google Play. Prices differ by country, and the app shows your price before you buy.
GLP-1 plans you pay for once: the Kickstart plan (₹1,999), and GLP-1 care plans of 3, 6 or 9 months. A care plan is offered only after a doctor has prescribed treatment.
2. Billing and renewal
Monthly plans are billed in advance each month by the App Store or Google Play. They renew automatically until you cancel.
GLP-1 plans are paid once, up front, to Joovik through Razorpay, our payment partner. They do not renew. A care plan ends on its last day.
Price changes: we will tell you before any price change. A new price for a monthly plan starts from your next month. A plan you have already paid for does not change.
3. Cancellation
Cancel a monthly plan in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. We cannot cancel it for you. To stop the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before it renews. You keep access until the end of the month you have paid for. Refunds for monthly plans are handled by Apple or Google under their own terms.
GLP-1 plans do not renew, so they stop on their own. If your doctor stops treatment during a care plan, we refund the months you have not used. For any other question about a plan, email [email protected].
4. Changes to a plan
We may add, change, or discontinue plan features and will tell you in advance of material changes.
Acceptable Use Policy
To keep the Platform safe and trustworthy, you agree not to:
use the Platform for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose;
provide false identity or health information, or impersonate another person;
attempt to obtain a prescription by deception, or misuse, resell, or divert medicines;
misuse Dr Jo - for example to seek emergency care, to generate harmful content, or to attempt to make it act as a substitute for a doctor;
upload malware, attempt to breach security, scrape, or overload the Platform;
infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights, or post unlawful, defamatory, or abusive content;
use the Platform to harass Healthcare Providers, Diagnostic Partners, or staff.
Enforcement
We may remove content, suspend, or terminate access for breach, and report unlawful activity to authorities. Concerns can be raised under the Grievance Redressal Policy.
Community Guidelines (if user content is enabled)
These Guidelines apply if and when the Platform offers reviews, comments, forums, or other User-generated content. Currently, the Platform links to social media but does not host a public community; these Guidelines take effect when such features launch.
Be respectful and safe
Be respectful; no harassment, hate speech, or personal attacks.
Do not share others’ personal or health information without consent.
Do not post medical misinformation or promote unsafe use of medicines; content is not medical advice.
No spam, advertising, or solicitation.
Do not share content that is unlawful, infringing, obscene, or misleading.
Moderation
We may moderate, edit, or remove content and suspend accounts that breach these Guidelines. Report content under the Grievance Redressal Policy.
Children’s Privacy Policy
1. The Platform is for adults
The Platform and its Services (including GLP-1 weight-loss facilitation) are intended for adults aged 18 and over. The app’s terms require you to be 18 or over to have an account, and its age question starts at 18. We do not otherwise check age. On joovik.com, the consultation form does not refuse someone who gives an age under 18. It marks the booking for the doctor’s attention.
2. Parental consent
The DPDP Act requires the verifiable consent of a parent or lawful guardian to process the Personal Data of a person under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has given us Personal Data without that consent, tell us and we will delete it (see section 4).
3. No harmful processing
We do not undertake tracking, behavioural monitoring, or targeted advertising directed at children, and we will not process children’s data in a way likely to cause detrimental effects on their wellbeing.
4. If we learn we hold a child’s data
If we learn we have collected a child’s Personal Data without the required consent, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact [email protected].
Data Retention Policy
1. Principle
We keep Personal Data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law, after which we delete or anonymise it.
2. Retention periods
The periods we apply are listed under “How long we keep it” in our Privacy Policy, which is the current description. In summary:
Account, profile, answers, logs and memories: until you delete your account.
Consultations and prescriptions: kept with your name after you delete your account, because doctors must keep medical records, and deleted three years after the last clinical entry. Consultation bookings are kept for our financial records with your name, phone, email and health details removed.
Payment and order references: kept for our financial records after you delete your account, with no automatic deletion at present.
Conversations with Dr Jo (JOOVIK in the app), as text: each message for 3 years. Voice recordings, of you talking to JOOVIK and of calls: until you delete your account. Call transcripts: 12 months.
Consent records and records of changes to sharing: kept after you delete your account, with no automatic deletion at present.
Analytics data: held by our analytics and error-reporting providers under their own retention settings.
3. Medical records
Doctors must keep medical records, which is why consultations and prescriptions stay after you delete your account (above). Any copies an independent Healthcare Provider holds outside the Platform are governed by that provider.
4. Deletion and anonymisation
When a retention period ends, or a valid deletion request is fulfilled, we delete or irreversibly anonymise the data. See the Data Deletion Policy.
Data Deletion Policy
1. Your right to deletion
You can ask us to delete the Personal Data we hold about you, and to withdraw consent to further processing, at any time.
2. How to delete your data
In the Joovik app: Profile > Delete account (on the simpler layout for parents, “Delete my account” on its profile screen). Withdrawing consent in the app (Profile > How it’s used > Withdraw my consent) deletes your account the same way. If you only use joovik.com, or can no longer sign in, email [email protected]. We may check that it is really you before acting on an emailed request.
3. What happens next
Your profile, answers, logs, conversations, memories and files, including voice recordings, documents, family voice notes and photos, are deleted, and any family circle you look after is handed on to another member where there is one.
Copies our providers already received follow their own retention settings.
A Healthcare Provider you consulted, and the Diagnostic Partner that handled a lab order, hold their own records under their own legal obligations. Joovik sends no data to any pharmacy.
4. What we retain
Some records stay after deletion, as the Privacy Policy lists in full: consultations and prescriptions with your name on them (deleted three years after the last clinical entry), and at present the prescription PDFs and documents you shared with the doctor; your consultation bookings, with your name, phone, email and health details removed; a lab order’s payment and order details and the email address its report went to; the record that you asked for deletion, with your phone number; records of consent and sharing changes; and copies of emails we sent.
5. Effect of deletion
After deletion, some Services may no longer be available to you, and we may be unable to retrieve your history.
Security Practices Statement
We take reasonable steps to protect your Personal Data. This is a summary, not a complete description of our controls.
Our measures include
Access controls: data is restricted to people and services that need it, on a role-based basis.
Encryption: data is protected in transit and, where appropriate, at rest.
Secret handling: payment and system secrets are kept server-side and never exposed to your browser.
Minimisation: app analytics events drop property names that suggest health, contact details or message content before they are sent, and record IDs and access tokens are removed from website addresses before they reach analytics. Analytics still receive some details, listed in the Privacy Policy.
Vendor diligence: processors are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
Monitoring & response: we monitor for security issues and maintain a breach-response process (below).
Data breach response
If a personal-data breach occurs, we will act promptly to contain and assess it, notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected Users as required under the DPDP Act and the DPDP Rules, 2025, and take steps to prevent recurrence.
Your role
Anyone who can receive your sign-in codes can reach your health record, so keep your phone and number secure, and tell us immediately about any suspected misuse at [email protected].
